Located off the foyer, this den is as elegant as it is comfortable. Shades of gray and beige are soothing and chic. A wet bar and a Reflectel television that doubles as a handsome mirror make the room ideal for both entertaining and lounging. "Today, we are looking for a safe haven more than ever before," Baird says. "But unlike our two years of sweatpants, we want an environment that gives us the pleasure of homey comfort as well as hotel-like elegance."Photograph by Nickolas Sargent"Upper West Side Story" by Penny Drue Baird

This room balances bold and delicate moments. Halden's creative director, Kesha Franklin, designed the custom carpet from The Rug Company. "We wanted to design a space that felt protected by the beauty of nature and that evokes passion," Franklin says. The hand-painted walls are an extension of the stairwell art by South African photographer Pieter Hugo for Yossi Milo Gallery.Photograph by Nickolas Sargent“Heart of the Vine” by Halden Interiors

The name of this room is a nod to its past residents—Shakespearean actress Julia Marlowe and the Seagrams family heir Edgar Bronfman Jr. Viñas started with the walls, for which she designed a plaid wallcovering. Mark Mulroney then designed a felt and paint overlay, which adds unique flair to the walls. Viñas also custom-designed the coffee table and carpet. At first glance, this living room seems like a formal, adults-only space. However, Corrigan used outdoor fabrics on the upholstered seating and a stain-resistant hide rug—ideal for an active family. No detail has been overlooked, from the wood-paneled walls to the snake detail on the ceiling.Photograph by Nickolas Sargent"Spring Fever" by Timothy Corrigan

This bathroom is inspired by the energy of New York City—the shapes of buildings, color exploration, and perpetual motion. The lighting fixture by Brooklyn-based Avram Rusu Studio, Benjamin Moore's Starry Night and Conch Shell, and floor and wall tiles by Artistic Tile bring movement and vibrancy to the space. "When designing, we think not only about filling a space, but redefining a space with architectural features, sculptural elements, and fixtures with movement," the designer says.Photograph by Nickolas Sargent"The Shapes of Design" by Design Studio 15

In the history of Kips Bay showhouses, Wesley Moon is the first interior designer to reimagine the main kitchen space. "I wanted the space to feel like an updated version of the kitchen that may have been original to the house," he says. The original fireplace is enhanced with an antiqued limestone mantel. On the cabinetry, the designer added a custom decorative finish by LaPolla Designs. The island is clad in Ann Sacks tile.Photography by Marco Ricca"Not Just a Kitchen” by Wesley Moon, Inc.
