A Letter from the Editors

How many times have you dreamed of updating your kitchen or building your dream house? If you’re like me, the answer is simple: many, many times—a day! I actually keep folders of ideas I would love to incorporate in my own house. But like many of you, the ideas remain in files to drool over on a rainy day. So what stops us? Many readers have admitted to me that it seems such a daunting task, and they don’t know where to start.

It is precisely for this reason that the editors of CTC&G created the first annual The Connecticut Design Guide. For the past 13 years, we have created a magazine that is filled with the best-of-the-best in the design industry, located right here in Connecticut. What could be more useful than a guide that is filled with inspiration, guidance and tips from the pros?

So if you are dreaming of building a new house, renovating a kitchen or bathroom, redecorating your rooms or creating the plushest outdoor space, we have it covered. And because the business of real estate is the first step to home ownership, we added a section that will help you buy or sell a house. However, in our excitement, we also decided to address indulgences like jewelry or antiques that are worth the investment. Lastly, we added “The List,” which includes all the professionals we have featured in the magazine throughout the past 13 years. We feel that this is the most comprehensive list in the market and one that will help you with any project you have in mind. So go ahead embark on that project with the tools we have created for you. Dreams do come true!
