Barney, everybody's favorite purple dinosaur, has a connection to this lovely Greenwich manse–the show's creator is selling the waterfront property.At any given moment, celeb-packed Greenwich has an embarrassment of houses connected to notable names—in recent years, director Ron Howard, actor Mel Gibson, designer Tommy Hilfiger and singer Diana Ross have had homes on the market. This month, our cultural connections are slim, with a property owned by Sheryl Leach, creator of Barney & Friends, the only offering. But the house itself is swell, an $11.9-million Mediterranean-inspired manse. The nearly two waterfront acres—once part of makeup mogul’s Helena Rubinstein’s estate—come with a pool, spa, tennis court and boathouse. There are more amenities inside the almost-7,000-square-foot main house, including a master wing with a private sun terrace, a 200-bottle wine room, a game room and a gym, sauna and steam room.
