Actor Matthew Morrison Asks $4.3M for Idyllic Hollywood Hills Retreat
Actor Matthew Morrison, best known for starring in Glee, said goodbye to playing Mr. Schuester when the show ended in 2015. But, he’s held onto a Hollywood Hills home he purchased in 2010, during Glee‘s golden era, ever since. Picked up for about $1.19 million, public records show, the leafy property just listed for $4.295 million. At the current asking price, Morrison is looking to make a profit that would be music to anyone’s ears.
Dubbed Le Reve, or “The Dream,” the centerpiece stands a restored Monterey Colonial farmhouse. After marrying, Morrison and wife Renee embarked on a $1 million remodel project that added 1,000 square feet and an additional bedroom. The total tally now stands at 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms within 3,146 square feet.
As remarkable as the home itself is—a steam shower in the primary suite, vast walk-in closets, and vaulted wood beam ceilings all feature heavily—it’s the outdoor spaces that steal the show. Balconies and terraces spill off many rooms, overlooking a backyard lush with organic fruit trees. An in-ground infinity spa also lies on the grounds.
Morrison told Mansion Global that they are selling to travel with their children, and have also sold two New York properties for the same purpose. Heather Boyd of Hilton & Hyland holds the celebrity listing, where one can enjoy both the quiet and vibrant sides of LA. Bucolic yet close to the city’s major studios and the Hollywood sign itself, iconic spots are moments away.
