Alexander McQueen’s Luxe London Apartment Lists for $10.6M
Late fashion designer Alexander McQueen’s former penthouse was recently listed with Wetherell for £8.5M (about $10.6M), reports AD, and his sophisticated style is evident throughout. The residence, which occupies the top two floors of a building on a quiet street near the upscale London area of Mayfair, also boasts a royal pedigree; it was formerly home to Alexander Mountbatten, Queen Victoria’s grandson.
The apartment was refurbished and designed as an homage to McQueen and it’s incredibly chic, with glossy black floors, bespoke furnishings and chandeliers in nearly every room adding plenty of sparkle. The kitchen features a center island and a sunny breakfast bar and the reception room has a mirrored wall with an open fireplace. A dramatic spiral staircase leads to the second floor where there are two bedrooms including the master suite and even further up is the roof terrace, which has entertaining space, an outdoor kitchen area and panoramic views of London.
