Architect Thierry W. Despont Lists the Rosewood Farm Estate in Southampton for $23.5M

It appears that esteemed French architect and designer Thierry W. Despont is reassessing his real estate portfolio. Last fall, the design aficionado, who counts Bill Gates and Calvin Klein as clients, listed his colorful Tribeca townhouse and now his impressive Southampton estate is up for grabs, too. Enchanting and pastoral, the 34-acre property known as the Rosewood Farm estate is asking $23.5 million.

Despont collected three contiguous parcels between 2011 and 2013 to create his vast countryside retreat. Sited on the original Southampton Riding & Hunt Club, its equestrian roots are still very much alive through the land, but also since the architect worked with the existing horse farm structures to make a luxurious estate residence.

The six-bedroom primary home, once the main barn, opens on three sides a patio/courtyard with a romantic fountain. It looks out to the long pool for an utterly picturesque setting. Perfect for spreading out with visitors, the property also provides a separate four-bedroom guest house, a converted stable/ pool house, and a converted barn/four-car garage.

Rosewood Farm estate sings on its own, but the fact that Despont brought it to its current standing and is the seller offers exciting architectural allure. Harald Grant and Bruce Grant of Sotheby’s International Realty share the listing.
