Award-Winning Actor Tony Shalhoub Parts Ways with a Timeless Upper West Side Pad

Tony Shalhoub is a heavy hitter when it comes to acting and performing. Throughout his career, the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Monk star has won five Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, a Tony award, and six Screen Actors Guild Awards. But, this time Shalhoub is making headlines for another reason: Selling his Manhattan co-op. It first listed last year, but the $3.15 million sale serendipitously closed recently just as his NYC-based Amazon Prime show airs its last season, with its finale set for May 26.

The series takes place on the Upper West Side, and that’s where this apartment is, too. Shalhoub and his wife, actress Brooke Adams, purchased the pad for $3.995 million in 2016—mere months before The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel aired in March of the following year. When it was time to move on, the couple first listed the property for $4.495 million before dropping the price tag to $4.35 million and then $3.4 million, according to the New York Post.

The “classic five” has a classic location on the 12th floor of a West 81st Street prewar building right near the American Museum of Natural History and Central Park. Spanning 1900 square feet, the apartment boasts two bedrooms, a great room, a library, and a kitchen. Plus, two-and-a-half bathrooms, multiple closets for ample storage, a butler’s pantry, and a private terrace with Central Park and city views make the apartment quite marvelous itself.

It’s unknown who picked up the celebrity home, but Michael Orme and Lauren Muss of Douglas Elliman represented the couple in the sale.
