Bungalow Westport Awakens Retail with Design Transformation and an Eclectic Oasis of Home Décor and Accessories
For more than 20 years, Bungalow has always been the place to get “nothing you need, everything you want.” It’s no wonder, then, that customers frequently remark that their favorite possessions are from Bungalow. Now, there is even more to love, as owner Wende Cohen re-envisions the space in an exciting renovation—complete with an open, airy floor plan and an intimate meeting space where customers can enjoy a cappuccino or glass of wine along with a place to dream, converse, and enjoy.
To celebrate Wende, hosted a fabulous re-opening party that was well-attended by over 100 people. Some notable attendees included CNN Anchor Alisyn Camerota; Westport's Second Selectman Jen Tooker; Designers Sam Allen, Amy Hirsch and Kerri Rosenthal, and JL Rocks Jewelry Boutique Owner Jamie Camche, to name a few guests.
Esteemed author Jane Green hosted the party where guests had the opportunity to view the newly renovated space–which everyone loved! Some fun additions included the new Bar Bungalow, a revamped exterior that's been replaced with a metal roof and clean black-and-white detailing. Jane noted, "Bungalow is my favorite store in Westport." She also spoke highly of Wende where she noted, "she has the most exquisite taste and sophistication. She is also generous and humble." She added, "I always think that a business is the spirit of whomever it is at the top and what trickles down from Wende is the same thing – generosity, kindness, and wonderful taste."
At the event, guests also had the chance to see all of the one-of-a-kind home, decor, and accessories that Wende sources from all over the world, such as European elegance and eclecticism to Fairfield County with her mix of ethnic, traditional, and modern pieces, along with contemporary jewelry brands like JL Rocks, 3-Om, The Woods, and Lera Jewels. In addition to checking out the store, guests also enjoyed delicious nibbles from Fox Pond Farm Catering and Events.
Bungalow's transformation proves that online shopping is simply no substitute for an expertly curated environment, where shoppers can browse, catch up with friends, and enjoy a mini escape filled with discoveries from around the world.
The first to undergo a makeover, Bungalow's renovations are part of a larger effort to revamp Sconset Square and amplify the area’s position as a luxe design enclave in Westport, which guests saw first-hand at the re-opening party.
Additionally, the Designer Spotlight Series (showcasing must-haves from Bungalow) was also launched at the event and will be an ongoing campaign every two weeks. Prior to the re-launch designers and household names Sam Allen, Chris Roughan, Terri Ricci, Kerri Rosenthal, and Amy Hirsch joined Wende in celebrating the new space by sharing their must-have picks in an exclusive e-blast.
