Celebrating Connecticut with Local Bloggers at a Charming Victorian Listing
-
1/11Photography Courtesy of Julia DagsWe recently had the pleasure of joining Helen B. Philips and Faith Perry for their fabulous Summer Soiree celebrating Connecticut and its incredible brands and makers. The event took place at 2265 Post Roadin Darien, a gorgeous Victorian estate that s currently for sale through Book & Co Realty with William Raveis.
The home, built in 1856, features six bedrooms, four-full and one half-bath. Dubbed “The Garden Gate,” this estate is bursting with character, from the built-in bookshelves in the office, exposed sheetrock in the dining room, to the vintage wood mirrors in the bathrooms. Lofted ceilings on the main floor gave each room a spacious feel, while the styling and staging from Cynthia Princi Restyling and Design and throw blankets from ChappyWrap kept the home feeling equal parts comfortable and luxurious.
The kitchen was the star of the home, with a unique style and plenty of natural light. Stainless steel appliances, a SubZero-Wolf range, and a refrigerator disguised as a mirrored cabinet gave a chic and homey look. Small bites and treats were provided by Fjord Fish Market, Fairfield Greenwich Cheese Co., Four Forks Darien, and Palmers Bakery.
Covering 5,699-square-feet and set on a lush 1.6-acre lawn, the HOBI award-winning property was the perfect place to host a summer get-together. Between rain showers, we enjoyed sips of a Cylinder Vodka blueberry lemonade and Bimble Bev sparkling water on the expansive patio and deck, outfitted in blue and white in true Connecticut fashion. From the TipSea Trailer bar on the lawn, we were able to take in the details of the home’s exterior, and views of the gated, in-ground pool surrounded by beautiful hydrangeas. Nielsen’s provided stunning flower arrangements to decorate each space. The asking price for this home is $3.175 million.
