Chef Giada De Laurentiis Parts Ways with Stylish LA Digs for $7M
Former Giada at Home host Giada De Laurentiis may be in search of a new one herself. The celebrity chef sold her chic Los Angeles home this week for $7 million. The beautiful Pacific Palisades pad is within walking distance of the neighborhood village and overlooks the rugged Potrero Canyon, so the new owner will be in a prime LA spot.
“She wanted to downsize just for her and her daughter,” listing agent Smith Cho of Compass told Mansion Global, “She felt that it belonged to family who also likes to entertain.” Indeed, the home may be a tad vast for two. The 6,500-square-foot spread includes 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. An open floorplan makes that square footage feel even larger.
It is easy to see why somebody who spends as much time in the kitchen as De Laurentiis does was attracted to the house. The kitchen is a dream with cabinetry in soothing gray and an island rivaling Sicily in scale. It’s also connected directly to the living and dining rooms, allowing whoever’s cooking to still enjoy time with guests and family relaxing nearby. The poolside grill makes the most of the home’s other most valuable asset: Its views.
Passing the baton or whisk to the next great owner, Giada will certainly make a splash whenever she finds a new LA spread.
Smith Cho of Compass and Cristian David of Sotheby’s International Real Estate represented this stellar listing together.
