Extravagant New Building Created by Design Industry Legends Debuts in Manhattan

The Upper East Side just got a little glitzier with the introduction of a new luxury condominium building. Shining at 150 East 78th Street, the structure crafted by legends in the design industry draws on facets of the past while offering plenty of modern amenities. This concept is referenced in the tagline “in with the old, in with the new,” on the building’s recently debuted teaser site.

Robert A.M. Stern Architects lends their singular vision to the creation of this 15-story tower. The architects utilized handset Indiana limestone, patterned brick and ornate metal detailing to connect the building to the area’s rich history and long-standing structures. The gleam of tradition, a nod to the Upper East Side’s roots, appears in green metals, arched framing and a distinct, raised roof. These precise features are intended to solidify the tower’s place among the established developments that line the Upper East Side. Producing projects of a superior caliber is the way of the renowned architecture firm, who have constructed residences both big and small, notably designing a recently listed home owned by rock legend Bon Jovi.

When tasked with designing the interiors of 150 East 78th Street, Robert Couturier tapped into inspirations from previous private-home commissions. The result is a slew of swanky residences and public areas nestled into the buzzing metropolis of Manhattan. Couturier teamed up with revered cabinet designer, and former Connecticut IDA Innovator Award recipient, Christopher Peacock to craft state-of-the-art kitchen spaces that serve as a focal point in every residence.

The distinguished tower will offer 25 units ranging from three bedrooms to five bedrooms and is being co-developed by Midwood Investment & Development and EJS Group. Alexa Lambert of Compass Development will act as the executive sales and marketing agent.
