A Famous Singer’s San Diego Residence Goes into Contract Three Days After Listing

Victor Willis, the lead singer of the disco group Village People and co-writer of ‘Y.M.C.A,’ and his wife are about to sell their West Coast residence. It listed in March for $2.3 million and went into contract within three days for the full asking price.

The Village People have sold over 100 million records and have their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, along with Tom Petty and Marilyn Monroe. Some of the group’s awards are currently displayed in the entryway of this home, which Willis and his wife purchased in 2018.

This three-story Spanish contemporary home was built in 1977, just a year before ‘Y.M.C.A’ was released. It spans 2,718 square feet with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. One of the best perks of the property is its panoramic views of downtown San Diego and San Diego Bay, which are best seen from the living room and the primary bedroom’s wrap-around balcony.

It wouldn’t be a California residence without an outdoor space to indulge in. The family room opens up to the pool and barbecue area to allow for effortless indoor/outdoor living. The pool has a waterfall and a spa that fits up to ten people.
