Fox News Anchor Bret Baier Seeks $32M for Custom-Built D.C. Mansion

Longtime Fox News anchor Bret Baier has listed his Washington, D.C. manor for $31.9 million. This headline may come as a surprise seeing as Baier and his wife paid $5.4 million for the property and moved in last year after spending three years (and $25 million) to build their home, according to Mansion Global. The family is now seeking to shed the grand mansion as they relocate to a $37 million Palm Beach residence.

The “Special Report with Bret Baier” host and Fox News Channel’s chief political correspondent created quite the compound in the nation’s capital, less than four miles from the White House. And, rather than drawing inspiration from Greek and Roman architecture like many of DC’s landmarks, this Foxhall Road residence is inspired by France’s Château du Grand-Luc. Interior designer Thomas Pheasant, developer Michael Banks, architect David Jones, and landscape architect Richard Arentz collaborated on the stately project, which sits on the highest point in Washington.

The 16,250-square-foot home totals five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and two partial bathrooms. It has a regal yet fresh feel throughout the majestic spaces, which embrace an understated neutral palette and natural light. At the top of the rotunda staircase, the primary bedroom awaits with a private terrace and two ensuite bathrooms and dressing rooms. The lower level boasts a two-story indoor sports court, golf simulator, movie theater, spa, and gym. The lavish fun doesn’t stop there, though. Outside sits a 56-foot swimming pool and a chipping and putting green.

Daniel Heider and Jaclyn Mason of TRR Sotheby’s International Realty hold the pricey D.C. listing.
