Fans of the Harry Potter series now have an opportunity to live in its lore, as a historic home featured in the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part One is on the market asking £950,000, or about $1.23 million. Situated in Lavenham, a village 70 miles outside of London, the property first went on the market this time last year.Caroline Edwards, a partner at Carter Jonas, the agency that holds the listing, told BBC; “Special houses like this always have to find the right buyer – indeed, a buyer who is prepared to be a custodian as much as a resident… When you find the right buyer for a house like this, they tend to treasure them.”A treasure indeed this is. Appearing as the centerpiece of the mystical wizarding neighborhood Godric’s Hollow in the film, the house served as the site of Potter’s parents’ murder at the hands of He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.Named De Vere house, the home’s intricate period detail fits right in in Lavenham, which is known in England as the best preserved medieval village in the country. A fine façade with brick noggin and ornate carved timbers guards an interior with original fireplaces and a rare stone spiral staircase. The 3,165-square-foot home also features two kitchens, six bedrooms, and four bathrooms.
