Heading to the Hampton Designer Showhouse This Weekend?
Make the most out of your East End visit during Labor Day weekend.
The long weekend is a perfect excuse to head out East to see the 2022 Hampton Designer Showhouse. Whether you’re visiting for a day or the entire weekend, make the most out of your trip with these recommendations.
Showhouse

The showhouse features more than 20 top interior designers and is open seven days a week between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Purchase your tickets at the door or in advance. The proceeds benefit Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Located in Southampton at 120 Edge of Woods Road, the Hampton Designer Showhouse makes for a perfect first stop.
Shopping

Bilbo to go! Through Labor Day weekend, let Sag Harbor favorite Le Bilboquet provide the feast for your day on the water. From $200, order in advance through hellobilbo.com.
Shopping in Southampton, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, or Montauk after stopping by the showhouse? We have you covered. Check out these items and have them on hand all weekend when you go to the beach, bay, or pool. Perhaps most notably, it’s the last weekend to order Le Bilboquet’s boat basket featuring Niçoise salad and lobster rolls.
Relax
After only a 10-minute car ride from the showhouse, you can experience a taste of Palm Beach’s iconic Colony Hotel at Christie’s. The Colony’s signature elements, like its pink and green beach buggy, striped loungers, and scalloped umbrellas, will overlook Agawam Park. Chill out, play some corn hole, and enjoy refreshments from the ice cream cart and rosé. The pop-up will be open from noon to 6 p.m. through Sunday.
Dining
Escape the crowds and head to Léon 1909 on Shelter Island for dinner. Earlier this summer, owner Valerie Mnuchin invited friends to try some of chef Mason Lindahl’s farm-to-table dishes. Mnuchin named the restaurant after her grandfather. “He was Belgian and spent half his life on the East End,” she says. “I never met him, but I wanted the restaurant to be an homage to him, as well as a love letter to Shelter Island.”
Wining
As the sun sets on summer, watch the sunset over one of the Hampton’s most popular vineyards. The Wölffer Estate Vineyard’s Wine Stand is the perfect place to spend a late afternoon with family and friends. There will be live music performances all weekend, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Lounge and patio seating are available on a first-come, first-served basis. On Sunday, start your day at the Wine Stand with a morning Core Barre Fit class—but be sure to book ahead.
Events
HC&G is hosting the annual VIP Tabletop Competition at the Hampton Classic Horse Show. In 2019, HC&G reported “while equestrians are competing over jumps at the Hampton Classic Horse Show finale, talented tabletop designers are also in competition.” This year the tabletop competition is on Grand Prix Sunday, September 4.
Art
The Whisky Watercolor Club is a group of five architects who drink whisky and paint watercolors. Their paintings are on display at Katie Leede & Company in Sag Harbor from September 1 through October 16. Read more about the exhibit here.
