A High-Profile Hamptons Estate Seeking $145M Goes Into Contract

It adds up that the home with the largest ocean frontage in the Hamptons could also earn the title of the area’s most expensive sale. And after four long years on the market, 90 Jule Pond Drive has at last found a buyer of unknown identity. Also unknown? The exact final price tag, beyond its expected record-breaking impact.

People have been keeping a close eye on this Southampton listing, and its incredible price tag, for some time. In 2017, the estate listed for a seismic $175 million. Now in contract with $145 million as the last asking price, the buyer is shelling out enough that Bespoke Real Estate has already announced on Instagram that it will be “The Most Expensive Sale in the History of the Hamptons.” The current record stands at $147 million, according to the NY Post.

Originally, this oceanfront estate was built and owned by the Ford family as part of their large Hamptons property known as Fordune. While the ocean is the star of the grand spread, it is but one body of water the home borders. Its unrivaled 1,286-feet of ocean frontage, just under a quarter mile, is further complemented by three ponds. On a morning walk with a cup of coffee, the new owner can head out to enjoy open ocean views and also catch the sight of Mecox Bay on the way. If this makes the property sound small, don’t be mistaken—it spans 42 acres.

The mansion itself is no less impressive, a 20,000-square-foot residence with 12 bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms. A pool, tennis court, basketball court, greenhouse, and a carriage house with three bedrooms accompany the main home.

Bespoke Real Estate and Ellen Stern of Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty hold the listing together.
