The pair, who were co-stars on Buffy the Vampire Slayer before getting married, purchased this Spanish revival-style dwelling in 2002 for $1.96 million and designer Kristen Panitch helped them modernize the digs while maintaining the romantic circa-1930 architecture.Clocking in at 4,186-sqaure-feet, the two-story house offers five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. The front entrance sets a bohemian tone for the residence instantly with a rustic arched door and lush landscaping. Inside, open spaces are decorated thoughtfully with an array of fun prints and comfortable furnishings. A chef’s kitchen is functional and kid-friendly boasting a built-in window seat with a table and tiny stools for the Hollywood couple’s two children. A whimsical playroom also shows how the home puts family first. The backyard provides multiple spaces for entertaining, a small yard, and a sparkling pool.Earlier this year, another How I Met Your Mother cast member made real estate moves, but this time in the city where the show was set. Colbie Smulders’ Manhattan penthouse hit the market for $4 million, but is now no longer visibly listed.Ren Smith of Pacific Union International has the Santa Monica listing, which Variety first reported.Photographs by Kristen Panitch and Pierre Galant, Courtesy of Pacific Union InternationalHow I Met Your Mother actress Alyson Hannigan and her husband Alexis Denisof just listed their long time Santa Monica home for $5.1 million after selling a different California property last year.
