Iconic Waldorf Astoria Launches Sales for First-Ever Private Residences

New York’s iconic Waldorf Astoria has been closed since 2017, temporarily shuttered whilst undergoing a massive renovation. The project’s purpose? That the Waldorf will join five-star peers such as the Ritz Carlton and the Plaza in offering private residences. The soon-to-be-completed Towers of the Waldorf Astoria is the first opportunity to own a home in the historic Park Avenue landmark. After much anticipation, sales just launched for these posh units with endless amenities. A chance to stay forever, not just for a nightly rate.

The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria count 375 residences with pricing starting at $1.7 million. Among them are studios, penthouses and everything in between, each accessed via two fully-staffed entry lobbies and with access to the over 50,000-square-feet private residential amenities.

The tower’s 25th floor houses the Starlight Pool, a 25-meter expanse of water overlooking Park Avenue and lit by a series of stunning skylights. The Starlight Pool is the center of an extensive wellness facility, rife with private fitness studios, saunas, and steam rooms. Entertainment is not exclusive to the physically active, however. A landscaped terrace and Winter Garden allow for optimal Vitamin D exposure, while the Monaco Bar and movie theater create places to entertain or get to know neighbors within the tower. Residents can also work their day jobs and host meetings in the Empire Club. If all of this is still not enough, each homeowner also holds special privileges in the adjacent hotel’s 100,000 additional square feet of amenities.

Not only will the amenities be dazzling, but the design will be as well. Architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and famed interior designer Jean-Louis Deniot (whose own house is currently for sale) are perfecting the structure inside and out. Deniot says, “The interiors will reflect the magnificence of the past mixed with today’s great sense of energy. They will be grand and playful, all highly inviting, with many elements of surprise and excitement.”

Welcoming residents in 2022, but welcoming purchases now, this is development will be worth the wait for anyone who dreams of New York City hotel living at its finest.
