Inside the Luxury NYC Apartment George and Amal Clooney Will Soon Call Home

An open living space features a sitting area and breakfast banquette. One Hundred East Fifty Third Street has gained two new high-profile residents: sources tell Page Six that George and Amal Clooney have purchased an apartment in the forthcoming Foster + Partners-designed skyscraper.

Completion of the building, which is from developer Aby Rosen, is expected next year and apartments ranging from 1-4 bedrooms are available starting at $2.6 million. The crown jewel penthouse duplex is available for $65 million, but that isn’t the apartment that the Clooneys purchased, opting instead for a different high-floor unit. Apartments in the building are loaded with high-end finishes and include open living spaces, dramatic views and gracious layouts. The couple was drawn to the building for its elegant modern design, luxury amenities (a fitness center, pool and restaurant run by a Michelin-starred chef to name a few) and its proximity to the UN for Amal, who is a renowned human-rights lawyer.
