WHO: Raleigh, North Carolina, native Lindsay Hair, an interior designer who followed her entrepreneurial dream by opening up her own decorating firm in Manhattan in 2008.

WHAT: An aesthetic marked by comfortable elegance and strong silhouettes. “My sense of style is to reflect my clients’ personality in their homes,” Hair says.

WHERE: Current projects include a one-bedroom apartment on the Upper East Side and a triplex in the West Village. Hair also recently launched Linden Blue, an e-design service that offers a virtual approach to decorating. “Clients send me photos of their space, and I lend my professional eye—allowing them to decorate at their own pace,” she says. “It’s like design in a box. Decorate as you like, when you’d like. It’s as simple as that.”

WHEN: After stints with decorators Victoria Hagan and Charlotte Moss, she launched Lindsay Hair Interiors four years ago, deciding it was the logical next step in her career. “Opening my own firm meant I had the chance to keep expanding my horizons and developing my talent,” says Hair. “Every new project is like a reawakening.”

WHY: “Beautiful design should be accessible to everyone,” she says. “Creating environments where families are going to make their memories means everything to me.”
