J. Lo Just Listed This Bel Air Estate with a Beautiful Blend of Styles for $42.5M

A-listers Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck just tied the knot last summer in an epic wedding no one expected a few years ago. Now in a new era as the Afflecks, J. Lo is looking to shed this exquisite Bel Air haven.
Though the eight-acre property has overflowing beauty, the power couple clearly isn’t planning to keep it in the mix as they move forward. Ever the savvy businesswoman, J. Lo has priced the estate at $42.5 million after purchasing it for $28 million from actress Sela Ward and entrepreneur Howard Sherman in 2016, according to Mansion Global.
Originally designed by architect Samuel Marx, the residence has been revamped since then to become a multi-structure French country-style home. On closer inspection, though, it displays a clever blend of styles. While stone and wood elements infuse a feeling of living in French wine country, elements like the clean steel windows and doors add a splash of modern, industrial flair. Meanwhile, the 100-seat outdoor amphitheater has a decidedly boho look with its wild greenery and colorful pillows.

Within the approximately 14,000 square feet of interiors, everything feels sophisticated and warm—an appropriate reflection of the seller’s aura. While high ceilings and striking light fixtures create a grand atmosphere, it still feels completely livable and family oriented.
True to the L.A. lifestyle, all paths lead to the outdoors. In the primary suite wing, you can hop out of the shower and head straight out to unwind on the private landscaped patio or stroll to the vegetable garden.
