Janet Jackson Reels in $8.8M for Her Longtime Manhattan Apartment

After nearly four months on the market, Janet Jackson’s Manhattan condo along Billionaire’s Row has sold. The ‘Miss You Much’ and ‘Together Again’ singer listed the Central Park West spot at the end of April, asking $8.995 million. Just short of that price, the property closed at $8.8 million, which still leaves Jackson with a significant profit considering she purchased the property for only $2.8 million in 1998.

The 2,100-square-foot space is bright and airy, capturing beautiful views all around. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment provided refuge for the star for nearly 25 years. According to Mansion Global, an April statement from Jackson showed her true love for the space; “Stepping through its threshold instantly made me feel so tranquil and at peace.” Truly, what’s not to love about a glassy, 34th-floor escape above New York City? That is, unless you have a fear of heights.

Bright spaces of the main rooms are mirrored by dark wood finishes in the library and furnishings. Located at 1 Central Park West, high atop the Trump International Hotel, building amenities include a pool and upgraded gym.

All good things must come to an end, and the music icon has moved on. Soon, her lyrics in ‘Got ’til It’s Gone’ may feeler truer than ever. Juliette Janssens and Allison Koffman of Sotheby’s International Real Estate held the listing.
