John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Find a Buyer for Their Two New York City Penthouses

Good things come in pairs, which is certainly true of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s neighboring penthouses in Nolita that are on their way to selling. Public records show the duo purchased their first unit atop of historic Brewster Carriage House in 2018 for $9 million and, later in 2020, scooped up another penthouse for $7.7 million. While they had big plans here at one point, the set was listed together for $18 million in January and went into contract less than 90 days later for the exact asking price.

The combination of the two penthouses would result in over 6,100 square feet of interior living space, complete with unique design features and top-of-the-line finishes. It would give the new owner half of the fifth floor, all of the sixth floor, as well as 3,300 square feet of rooftop gardens. With only 9 units total in the building, this means incredible privacy, too.

Some other highlights a new owner can look forward to include the chef’s kitchen; a glamorous package outfitted completely in Miele appliances and custom cabinetry and countertops. Living and dining spaces are illuminated by huge windows and made even grander by 12-foot ceilings. If reconfigured into one home, there would be 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms fit for hosting friends and family. Some bedrooms include exposed brick, nodding to the industrial roots of the circa-1900 building, while the bathrooms are outfitted in Bianco Dolomiti tiles and walnut vanities.

While Teigen and Legend are certainly high-profile clients, the team at Douglas Elliman who held the Broome Street listing—Noble Black, Jennifer Stillman, David Son, and Corinne Cahlon—have represented other celebrities, such as Scarlett Johansson and Bethenny Frankel, in their real estate ventures.
