1/17Photographs Courtesy of BespokeBuilt in 1897 and renovated by Edward P. Morse in 1919, Villa Maria has long been a grand presence in the Hamptons. The waterfront manse was a convent for decades, but most recently belonged to late fashion designer Vince Camuto and his model wife Louise, who purchased it in 2005 for $35 million and spent six years renovating it. First listed in 2008 for $100 million and recently put back on the market for $72 million, it has now changed hands for a sharply discounted $49 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. In Greenwich, a different pricey property owned by the couple is still on the market. This 15-acre Water Mill property was sold in two separate transactions, with one buyer snagging the 20,000-square-foot house and a parcel of land next to it for $36 million and another buyer spending $13 million on the estate’s remaining land. The residence boasts 11 bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms, including a lavish six-room master suite. NYC&G 2017 IDA architecture honorable mention Andre Tchelistcheff is responsible for the latest renovations, which brought the historic structure into the 21st century. Outside, the grounds offer a pool, tennis court, and beautifully landscaped gardens that come from HC&G 2015 IDA garden design winner Edmund Hollander.Bespoke Real Estate had the extravagant and special listing.Photographs Courtesy of BespokeBuilt in 1897 and renovated by Edward P.
