Lighting Designer Nathan Orsman to Host Annual School’s Out Benefit at His Water Mill Home

This year's host committee includes top names from the design community.

Lighting designer Nathan Orsman and television executive Jose Castro are hosting Hetrick Martin Institute’s annual School’s Out benefit at their Water Mill home on Saturday, July 15. The annual event, now in its 23rd year, supports LGBTQIA+ youth. Orsman plans to light his modern residence in an ever-changing spectrum of rainbow colors for the evening.

“Nathan and I are so thrilled and honored to host this event and support the wonderful and impactful work that the HMI team does every day in support of LGBTQ+ youth,” Castro says. The proceeds from the event will help fund and support programs for LGBTQIA+ youth throughout the summer months.

Notable names in the design community are among this year’s extensive host committee, including designers Nate Berkus & Jeremiah Brent, Bryan Graybill, Thom Filicia, Steven Gambrel, Timothy Godbold, David Kleinberg, Patrick McGrath, and architect Reinaldo Leandro. Television presenter Andy Cohen is also on the committee.

Synchronized swimmers will perform in the home’s 70-foot-long swimming pool throughout the evening. The event includes a two-hour cocktail reception, followed by a VIP “Best of The Hamptons” dinner, with Duryea’s lobster Cobb salad, STK’s steaks, Almond‘s side dishes, and Kerber’s Farm desserts.
