Asking $35 million, the penthouse owned by Matthew Perry of Friends hit the market Friday following an extensive, two-year extensive renovation. Dubbed the “Mansion in the Sky” by listing agents Greg Holcomb and Cassandra Petersen of Compass, the home sits atop a high rise with ultimate access to the surrounding Century City scenery.
Spanning the entire top floor for a total of 9,300 square feet, the four-bedroom condo was remodeled by architect Scott Joyce in collaboration with interior designer LM Pagano. The end result is the perfect blend of the Old Hollywood glamour of the surrounding neighborhood and modern taste. Plush fabrics spread across the home, warming the hardwood floors in an abundance of rugs, draped from rods as curtains, and upholstered in the couches. The home theater crescendos this motif, with overstuffed green velvet recliners surrounded below, above, and on all sides by a simultaneously tasteful and decadent crushed brown affair.
Four terraces offer a reprieve from the interior indulgence, with large spreads of subtle space plentiful for outdoor seating. An ardent Batman fan, Perry also outfitted a hallway with paraphernalia paying tribute to the Dark Knight.Photograph by Michael MacNamara and Jason Speth, courtesy of the MLSOne of the stars of television’s (arguably) most successful sitcom is selling Los Angeles’s most expensive condominium.
