Luciano Pavarotti’s Former Apartment Finds a Buyer for $9M

Luciano Pavarotti’s former Manhattan apartment has found a buyer after three years of struggling on the market. The renowned opera tenor passed away in 2007 and his widow listed their acoustically spectacular pied-à-terre in 2014 for $13.7 million.

The apartment was re-listed for $10.5 million in 2016 and then briefly listed with an adjacent unit that same year, resulting in a total asking price of $20.5 million. After all these efforts, the original single unit has now sold without a broker for $9 million, according to the New York Times.

Located in the Hampshire House at 150 Central Park South, the two-bedroom, two-bath abode boasts high ceilings and herringbone floors throughout. Pavarotti bought the unit over 30 years ago and was especially drawn to it because of its proximity to Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Opera House.

Singer and actress Alva Craft is the lucky buyer who purchased the spread at a discount. As well as being an artist in her own right, she has strong music ties due to her marriage to Robert Craft, a praised orchestral conductor who died two years ago.
