Mariah Carey Puts Her Traditional and Grand Atlanta Estate on the Market
Just under a year after purchasing this splendid estate in Atlanta, world-famous vocalist Mariah Carey is ready to move on. The singer dropped $5.65 million on the 4.65-acre property last November, according to Mansion Global, and has placed it on the market for $6.5 million.
So, what’s the breakdown of this expansive spread Carey is seeking to make a tidy profit on? The residence, boasting 12,575 square feet in total, was designed by Stephen Fuller and built in 1951. It offers a grand brick mansion with imposing columns and a long private driveway, plus a pool, pool house, and tennis court.
While the grounds certainly impress, the interiors full of eye-catching touches are what nod to the performer’s glamorous style. A foyer with a chandelier dripping in crystals greets you upon entrance, setting a formal and traditional tone. The rest of the home follows suit with walls of French doors letting in light and greenery in the living room, a classic white kitchen with a huge island, dramatic staircases, and intricate moldings in every room.
For a music industry VIP, of which Atlanta has many, the Buckhead estate is a dream for work and play. You can write and record hits from home since it has plenty of quiet spots to retreat to and its own recording studio, installed by Carey herself. When the day is done, poolside parties under the spacious pavilion or movie nights in the home theater can become easy plans for entertaining.
Shanna Bradley of Ansley Real Estate, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, holds the listing.
