Moby listed the property only four months after buying it. “I’m rarely there,” the artist wrote on Instagram before announcing his plans to use the money to support progressive political candidates, animal rights foundations and to produce documentaries and fund scholarships.David Henken, an apprentice of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the structurally intricate house in 1956. The residence feels like an extension of the nature it surrounds as its wooden exterior blends into the surrounding greenery. Spacious living areas and surprisingly bright mahogany interiors make up the heart of the 3,162-square-foot space. Among the house’s striking features is an office that is built around a natural rock formation. It is yet to be seen if the new buyer will occupy the home for longer than Moby, but it is heartwarming to know that the funds from the sale will be put towards bettering both local and national communities.Muffin Dowdle of Ginnell Real Easte had the listing. Mansion Global first reported that the house sold.PHOTOGRAPHS COURTESY OF GINNEL REAL ESTATEA Pound Ridge midcentury modern, owned by recording artist Moby, has sold for $1.1 million.
