‘Modern Family’ Star Parts Ways with Enchanting Los Feliz Home
Modern Family didn’t push its actors to imagine a faraway location for the show, setting it right in sunny Los Angeles. The homes of the characters became stars themselves, but the people who brought them to life have held marvelous LA residences of their own. Last year, creator Steve Levitan listed his dreamy Malibu spread and now, Jesse Tyler Ferguson (aka Mitchell) has sold this charming Los Feliz home for $7.1 million.
The Spanish-style dwelling the star parted ways with clocks in at 4,926 square feet and is brimming with color and whimsy. Dating back to 1928, its original details and cozy character have remained true through renovations and upgrades. It enchants with stained glass windows, intricate ceilings, romantic balconies, and beautiful courtyards.
As if the style and natural surroundings don’t already encourage tranquility, the four-bedroom home boasts a meditation and yoga room. It also has an observation deck where one can look out onto the sweeping city, and no doubt over spots where Modern Family filmed.
With the scene set, it’s easy to imagine entertaining here as well. In true Modern Family fashion, the new owner can lounge by the pool with guests and throw parties full of shenanigans. The living room even converts into a media room with a drop screen and projector already in place.
Jennifer Akbari of Compass represented Jesse Tyler Ferguson in the sale of the home, while Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland represented the buyer.
