How to Design a Striking Black and White Bathroom
Build a modernized room with lustrous details.

This black and white bathroom was created by Denise Davies of D2 Interieurs for her teenaged son. She describes it as “modern with a masculine touch.” Davies’ intention was to create a timeless bathroom that her son would never outgrow. Duravit outfitted this bathroom in its Happy D.2 Plus series by Sieger Design. A free-standing tub is wrapped in a graphite super-matte panel and features soft rounded corners. The matte black console is also available in a chrome finish. Completing the look, the round smart mirror features integrated technology, allowing the user to alter the light brightness and temperature—from warm to cool—and defog the mirror. Available here.

Designed by the late Paik Sun Kim, the AK/25 faucet is part of the Aboutwater series by Boffi and Fantini. The faucet opens and closes on a hinge, so it neatly tucks away when not in use. The collection includes wall-mounted and deck-mounted faucets, tub fillers and shower fixtures. Price upon request, available here.
