Music Legend Paul Anka Wants $10M for His Swanky Thousand Oaks Estate
Singer Paul Anka is selling this luxe six-acre estate in Thousand Oaks, set behind the gates of Sherwood Country Club. The “Put Your Head on My Shoulder” singer, who also wrote major hits like “She’s a Lady” and the lyrics to “My Way” for Frank Sinatra to record, is looking to reel in $10 million for the glamorous spread.
Proceeding down the estate’s long gated driveway, a motor court awaits. The home’s architecture boasts the grandeur of a French chateau, all while seamlessly fitting into the L.A. landscape. It totals 7,791 square feet with four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. Records show that Paul Anka purchased it in 2007. So, over these many years, it’s likely hosted his daughter, Amanda Anka, and her husband, famed actor Jason Bateman.
In true California style, there is plenty of opportunity for indoor/outdoor living. Fully collapsable doors in the family room and dining room open to the patio. Outside, an infinity pool takes center stage, but there is also a freestanding glass-enclosed gym and an outdoor shower. From any of these stylish spots, you can take in the stunning views, which include mountains and the nearby Golf Clubhouse (accompanying the prestigious Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course).
It comes as no surprise that there is a recording studio in the home. There is also a billiards room and plenty of space to entertain. When it comes to decor, there’s no mistaking who lives here. While they certainly won’t be staying behind for a new owner, an impressive display of Anka’s career memorabilia adorns the walls of some spaces.
Nicki LaPorta of Compass holds the pricey listing, which might be a dream come true for golf and music lovers alike.
