Nab a Top LA Agent’s Treehouse-Esque Malibu Retreat for $1.9M

Much like seeing an architect’s home or an interior designer’s home on the market, seeing a top real estate agent’s property up for sale is a treat. Eric Haskell of The Agency, who represented Matt Damon’s listing last year, the Hemsworth brothers’ LA sale, and one of the most expensive listings in California, just put his own Malibu retreat up for sale for $1.895 million.

Compact and chic, Eric and his wife Jaime Haskell, who owns Lovely Bird Hats, purchased the Point Dume dwelling in 2014 and proceeded to build this trendy and tranquil home. Jaime is the brains behind its design, creating bright and open spaces balanced by warm textures and eclectic pieces. Doesn’t that sound so Malibu to you? If not, the location will.

Beyond the home’s cozy 1,575 square feet of interiors and three bedrooms, Zuma Beach is just minutes away. Famous for its beauty as well as its appearances in movies like Planet of the Apes or Charlie’s Angels, the sandy shore is as enticing for a surfer as a movie buff.

While the views and roomy terrace make a compelling argument for staying here long-term, space is one thing in lower supply at this residence. The agent/seller shares, “We bought it for ourselves and have owned it for eight years. It was a total labor of love. We pulled together every resource we had to build it and finish it and it’s been our Malibu treehouse. I wish I could keep it forever, but we needed more space because my wife runs her hat company, Lovely Bird, out of the home.”

For someone whose lifestyle doesn’t require too much space, however, it’s a lovely find.
