Original ‘Hamilton’ Stars Daveed Diggs and Emmy Raver-Lampman List a Sherman Oaks Home That Wows
Two members of Hamilton‘s original cast are looking to unload a property they put tons of love into. Daveed Diggs and Emmy Raver-Lampman, who met while performing in the smash-hit musical, moved to California following the close of their respective runs on Broadway. Now nursing burgeoning careers in Hollywood (Raver-Lampman stars on Netflix mainstay The Umbrella Academy, while Diggs is following up critical success in Blindspotting with a role in the upcoming live-action of The Little Mermaid), the duo are also headed in a new direction on the real estate front.
Their Sherman Oaks home, featured in Architectural Digest last year, is new to the market seeking $2.895 million. According to a representative for The Agency, Diggs and Raver-Lampman embarked on a collaboration with designer Mandy Cheng after purchasing the new build (which Cheng designed from the start) in 2018. As Cheng was formerly a production designer for TV, movies, and music videos, it all seems meant to be.
A keen use of color is evident throughout, with the kitchen especially displaying this. Its custom cabinets wear a dark green paint, while a backsplash of black-and-white cement tiles adds a graphic pop. And, according to AD, craft was just as important as color for the project. Raver-Lampman and Cheng each conceived clever ideas, with the homeowner deciding to use burlap sacks as wall art for the staircase and the designer recovering an ottoman with a rug that had been gifted to the couple. Many details in the home have a story.
While a buyer may not inherit the eclectic and exuberant decor, the 3,505-square-foot abode will provide bright spaces, 5 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, a pool, and more. Michael Grady holds the listing.
