Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas’ Former Westport Estate Asks $28M

It’s no secret that celebs have long loved Westport, Connecticut, a quaint yet high-end beach town just an hour away from New York City. Huge stars have put down roots here, including Bette Davis and Paul Newman. But though one often hears about all the celebrity-pedigreed residences, it’s rare that one is up for sale. Now, a fantastic opportunity to own a waterfront beauty once owned by actress Marlo Thomas and famous talk show host Phil Donahue has presented itself. Just listed, the property known as Copper Hill is asking $28 million.

Situated on 6.6 acres and boasting 400-feet of Long Island Sound frontage, this sophisticated estate is the epitome of luxurious coastal living. The Nantucket-style home designed by Roger Ferris + Partners clocks in at 10,896-square-feet, boasts five bedrooms, and has a divine flow for entertaining. Vast spaces anchored in a neutral color palette allow the home’s water views to shine, and they do from almost every room.

The master suite atop the abode is extra lavish, with 180-degree views of blue, double offices, and a new bathroom and dressing room. With a tennis court on the grounds and sweeping patios, owners may never want to go on vacation since this feels like a true New England resort.

Mansion Global reports that Donahue and Thomas sold the pristine property in 2013 to the current owners, Andrew Bentley and Fiona Garland. As it looks to change hands again, it’s in better shape than ever. The pristine shingle-style mansion is listed with Annette Coplit of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Jenny Bentley of Riverside Realty Group.
