President Trump's Former Greenwich Mansion Hits the Market for $45M

1/13Photographs Courtesy of Coldwell BankerThe lavish Greenwich, Connecticut estate where President Trump lived with his first wife, Ivana, and their children, including a young Ivanka Trump, has hit the market for a jaw-dropping $45 million. Listing agent Tamar Lurie of Coldwell Banker told the WSJ that the president picked it up for $4 million in the early 1980s and when the couple divorced a decade later, Ivana kept the waterfront home. It switched hands in 1998 for $15 million and has belonged to Robert and Suzanne Steinberg ever since, though this is the second time they’ve attempted to unload it.Just before Trump’s presidential campaign took off, the 19,773-sqaure-foot house, sitting on 5.8 acres of manicured land, was listed for $54 million. The price was reduced to $45 million and ultimately taken off the market, only to reemerge now asking the same amount. The listing describes it as “one of the most impressive properties in the country,” and while that’s for buyers to judge for themselves, it certainly is grand. Lurie notes that the Steinbergs renovated the 1939-built home to create a warmer and more relaxed atmosphere, removing gold leaf accents and other opulent design elements the Trumps enjoyed.Along with recent additions like a tennis court and a guest house with an indoor pool, a new owner will delight in using the property’s dock, putting green, outdoor pool, five-car garage, and media room. For Trump, this white house may no longer suit, but for anyone looking to make a splash in the real estate world and claim an estate on its own peninsula, this might be the perfect white house for you.Photographs Courtesy of Coldwell BankerThe lavish Greenwich, Connecticut estate where President Trump lived with his first wife, Ivana, and their children, including a young Ivanka Trump, has hit the market for a jaw-dropping $45 million.
