1/16Photographs Courtesy of Sotheby's International RealtyThe owners of this opulent estate in Greenwich, Connecticut have been trying to sell since before Donald Trump began his presidential campaign. Now years later and well into his presidency, they’re taking another stab at listing it, because the last few times it seems the price wasn’t right. First placed on the market for $54 million, then relisted in April 2018 for $45 million, the 5.8-acre waterfront property now wants $38.5 million.President Trump and his ex-wife, Ivana Trump, acquired the estate in the 1980s and it went to her after their divorce in the 1990s. By 1998, it was officially out of Trump-related hands and has belonged to the current owners ever since, though they clearly wish that were not still the case as they’ve taken many steps to secure a sale.As well as relisting at a hugely discounted price, the luxurious residence also has new representation: Joseph Barbieri of Sotheby’s International Realty. It still offers the same 19,773-square-feet of living space across a stately eight-bedroom main house and beautiful guest house. Its traditional and ornate interiors don’t appear to be staged since they look identical to when the home listed last year, perhaps a bold move in this competitive Connecticut real estate market. In a world of trendy white marble countertops and plush gray sofas, the home’s fanciful chandeliers and rich furnishings certainly stand out. With a tennis court, indoor and outdoor pools, a home movie theater, and splendid docks to enjoy, there’s no denying this property has the potential to be paradise. Since it’s less than and hour away from New York City, it’s perfect for a commuter with deeps pockets.Mansion Global first reported the property is back on the market.Photographs Courtesy of Sotheby's International RealtyThe owners of this opulent estate in Greenwich, Connecticut have been trying to sell since before Donald Trump began his presidential campaign.
