First Lady Jackie Kennedy, who later famously became known as Jackie O, is an American icon connected to many glorious properties. Currently, her Martha’s Vineyard compound is on the market asking $65 million and her Hamptons childhood home has been up for sale in the past, but this masterpiece in the Bahamas where she vacationed is much different than those New England estates. In fact, it was never even hers, but belonged to the notable Heinz ketchup family. Jackie and her sister Lee Radziwill often spent winter weekends at the Bahamas home, and now someone else can spend all their weekends here since it is up for sale asking $5.5 million.

Dubbed Minor Cay, the Heinz family created this modernist villa from the ground up and moved here in the early 1970s. It became a glamorous gathering place for them and their famous friends until they sold it to sculptor John Safer in the ‘80s. He and his family went on to enjoy 25 sunny winters at the Lyford Cay home, which has wraparound porches ideal for island living.

Overlooking the crystal clear ocean and the 12th hold of the Lyford Cay Golf Course, the five-bedroom abode is luxurious inside and out. From the great room to the master suite to the many terraces, the home is designed to be a place of ease and tranquility.
