The farming days of Fairfield County are, for the most part, long gone. But reminders, little and large, of the affluent area’s agricultural beginnings remain throughout. Take as an example Extown Farm, a 17.5-acre spread in New Canaan that served as the Town Farm from 1852 to 1929. With the Extown Farmhouse at its center built during the Revolutionary War in 1776, the property is both full of history and reminiscent of bygone pastoral life.
