Rupert Murdoch Lists Two Neighboring Condos Atop NYC’s One Madison for $78M

Rupert Murdoch, who has a current net worth of $21.3 billion per Forbes, just listed a pair of high-end and high elevation condos in the Flatiron District’s skyscraper One Madison. His personal residence, the triplex penthouse, occupies the 58th, 59th, and 60th floors and is listed for $62 million. Just below, the entire 57th floor also belongs to Murdoch, often used for staff/guest quarters, and now on the market seeking $16 million.

Purchased together, the $78 million deal would allow someone to use the separate homes in the same way or create a quadruplex penthouse. The building would need to approve such a combination, but together, this mega-penthouse would offer four levels, eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and two half baths. The total square footage would be roughly 10,160 square feet—a serious mansion in the sky.

For now, the separate condos both offer extraordinary views of New York City and open, light-filled living spaces. But, the triplex penthouse is far more awe-inspiring, as the price difference hints at. A prize for a billionaire like Murdoch’s real estate portfolio, it has a double-height great room with 20-foot ceilings, walls of glass, and a dramatic curving staircase. On a perfect day, you can even see the Atlantic Ocean. Perhaps best enjoyed from the 586-square-foot wraparound terrace.
