Businesswoman Aerin Lauder is no stranger to the entertaining world. This summer, the New York native invited friends to her Wainscott home, kicking off the season after months of social distancing. “After a year of being apart,” she says, “I was very excited to have a group of great women together again.”

Before dinner, Lauder and her guests gathered for drinks and hors d’oeuvres in the living room, which features blue-and-white export porcelain collected by her grandmother, Estée Lauder.

Dessert included cakes from Carissa’s Bakery and Gail Watson Bread, which also made the sourdough loaves. The ribbed stemware is from Aerin.

The hostess explains, “I like to create an inviting environment—a ton of flowers, candles, music, and a great mix of people of all ages.”
