Shaquille O’Neal Sells Picturesque Bell Canyon Home at a Discount
Shaquille O’Neal may be one of the biggest stars and championship winners in basketball history, but the NBA player didn’t have a slam-dunk sale when he listed this Los Angeles home. First asking $2.5 million back in November 2019, the Bell Canyon contemporary has at last sold for $1.85 million. Since O’Neal paid $1.815 million for it according to the LA Times, it seems he parted ways with it for a discount, but not for a loss. And after over a year on the market and a switch in representation from Compass to The Agency, the legendary athlete is likely happy to have the deed out of his hands.
It was in February of 2020, three months after the listing first went live, that Shaq made a bold marketing move. The retired basketball legend wasn’t shy when he took to Instagram posting, “I’M SELLING MY HOME IN BELL CANYON,” along with a video of the home. Perhaps that got people buzzing, but even then, it wasn’t until nearly a year later that the property did at last sell.
Such an extended stay on the market seems odd when examining the abode’s spaciousness and amenities. Within 5,127 square feet, the spread counts 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The backyard appears plucked from a five-star resort, with its swimming pool, jacuzzi, and firepit bordered by spacious patios and serene landscaping. Then, of course, its tranquil location with mountain views is so California.
Emil Hartoonian and Nicholas Siegfried of The Agency handled the sale.
