Singer Michael Feinstein Lists a Gatsby-Esque Estate for $12.75M

Old World glamour bursts from the seams of this Los Feliz home. Transcending the constraints of time, the custom build from the era of silent films has a Gatsby-esque charm, having held many big bashes in its day. Longtime owners, vocalist Michael Feinstein and husband, producer Terrance Flannery, are currently seeking $12.75 million for the LA home. This is a great deal since according to Curbed, it wanted $26 million in 2018.

Known as a revivalist, crooning mainly classics, Feinstein’s taste in music seems to match his taste in storied real estate. The home has had many interesting chapters, including being a Russian Consulate from 1935 to 1951. There’s no telling how many well-known historic figures have visited the estate, though most likely enjoying the grand rooms instead of the glossy pool.

The Tudor Revival has the capacity to fit a substantial amount of guests within its 15,391-square-feet of space. Posh gatherings can overflow from the interiors to the expansive terrace to the manicured gardens lining the property. Panoramic views of Los Angeles make for a glittering backdrop for celebrations, including Feinstein and Flannery’s own wedding which was held on the grounds.

There is a romantic atmosphere upon entering the chandelier clad foyer. Arched doorways deliver a chic entrance into sizeable spaces like the six en suite bedrooms. Beamed ceilings, intricate woodwork and parquet flooring are timeless details that give a nod to the house’s history without dating the residence.

The Los Feliz listing is held by Fredrik Eklund and Carrie Lewis of Douglas Elliman along with marketing consultants Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon.
