Singer-Songwriter Robbie Williams Splashes Out $49.5M for a Timeless Holmby Hills Estate
English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams, famous for crooning hit songs such as ‘Angels,’ has purchased a heavenly Los Angeles estate. This double-gated compound in coveted Holmby Hills is the former home of the late Richard King. King was a founding partner of King World Productions, the syndication behind beloved programs like The Oprah Winfrey Show, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. King’s wife, Lauren, listed their paradisal property for $58 million in January, and just sold it to Williams for a discounted but still stunning $49.5 million.
The nearly 19,000-square-foot residence designed by Oscar Shamamian is a ravishing retreat surrounded by calming greenery and gardens. Perched on two acres, the estate’s main house, two guest cottages, fitness center, pool, and tennis court create a clear resort-like feel.
Entering the main mansion, one is instantly greeted by a dramatic curving staircase. Deeper into the home, spaces like the wood-paneled great room or stone-clad wine cellar continue to highlight its timelessness. All in all, the structures encompass eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, providing ample room for guests or an entourage. The primary suite is fit for a ‘King’ with a private sitting room, dual closets and bathrooms, and a salon.
While the interiors are show-stopping, the fun doesn’t stop there. There’s outdoor entertainment galore with multiple patios, a saltwater pool, a koi pond, intricate landscaping, and more. One of the home’s guest houses boasts its own claim to fame as well, designed by renowned architect John Elgin Woolf.
For this major Holmby Hills transaction, Lauren King was represented by Aaron Kirman of Aaron Kirman Group, Rick Hilton and Linda May of Hilton & Hyland, and Branden and Rayni Williams of Williams & Williams Estates. Kirman also represented Robbie Williams in the sale.
