Spice Girl Mel B’s Hollywood Hills home has officially sold for $5.55 million, but that’s no where close to what she originally wanted for it. In 2017, the pop star put it on the market for $8.995 million, but by this February the asking price was a steeply reduced $5.9 million. Why it struggled on the market so much remains a mystery. The modern, 4-story residence is classy and fresh, with a minimalist approach to the interior furnishings and an extravagant approach to amenities.
Scary Spice’s former home boasts 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms which sprawl across 5,226-square-feet. The interior features a mix of bright white paint and light wood – but nothing like that paneling from the 70’s. This wood detail adds depth and warmth to each room, and ample natural light ensures spaces always feel airy and glam. This motif is shared among the living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, recording studio, and master suite.
The full chef’s kitchen offers a bold design contrast, opting for dark wood cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances. Similar design aspects are found in the outdoor open-air kitchen, which features a built-in grill, beer tap, ice maker, and refrigerator. The backyard also offers a heated pool and spa, and a lounge area complete with an outdoor fireplace and TV.
Additional amenities include an integrated Smart Home system, used for controlling the indoor and outdoor sound, lighting, and fireplaces. Private terraces with views of downtown LA, a home theater, game room, and fitness room.
The home is nestled in the coveted Bird Streets neighborhood of LA, right above Sunset Strip. The exclusive neighborhood is famous for its high prices, extreme privacy, incredible city views, and celebrity inhabitants, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Keanu Reeves. Ben Belack and Blair Chang of The Agency held the listing, and Mansion Global reported the sale.
