Spinnaker Real Estate Partners Turn Industrial Buildings in SoNo and Bridgeport into Residential Spaces

Bridgeport's Security Building has been transformed into artists' lofts.Spinnaker Real Estate Partners was the force behind the reuse of the Lock Building in South Norwalk, a complex of circa-1850s industrial buildings that offers 100,000-plus square feet of commercial space. Spinnaker gets additional credit for converting the historic Corset Factory, also in SoNo, into a handsome apartment building with 81 rental units.

The firm has also done the hard work of saving relics of our state’s industrial past in downtown Bridgeport. The circa-1900s Harral Security Wheeler (HSW) complex of three buildings on Main Street will offer about 70 artists lofts, plus ground-level commercial space. The Security Building is now leasing units; shared amenities include a grand atrium, an outdoor deck, a fitness studio and a business center. Loft-like two-bedroom units with views start at $1,450 per month.
