Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio Parts Ways with Her Bright NYC Duplex Penthouse

Often, it’s not until celebrity homes sell in New York City that people know where stars cozied up and built nests in the concrete jungle. For example, few probably thought strolling the streets of Murray Hill that up in the sky, supermodel and former Victoria’s Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio had a stunning place overlooking all of Manhattan and the river, too. After listing the duplex penthouse for $2.995 million in June, the home just changed hands for a slightly reduced $2.75 million.

Showing that glamorous Manhattan penthouses come in all shapes and sizes, the sun-drenched pad clocks in at just 1,600 square feet. But, never does it feel compact. With soaring walls of glass in the main living room and over 700 square feet of terraces to enjoy, it’s a sleek oasis that could easily be a refuge during chaotic NYC fashion week or from a press tour. According to Mansion Global, the Brazilian-born model even made it her own, tapping fellow Brazilian architect Arthur Casas to design it to her taste.

Awash with bright light and white walls while offering just three bedrooms, it’s clear that the residence is about minimalist high-end living. There’s just enough of everything without crossing into extravagance. Just enough style, space, and luxury. The galley kitchen, likely more ideal for storing take out and meal prepping for a busy week than large cooking parties, is a perfect example of how less is more here. Of course, some special perks were essential considering the seller’s field of work. The new owner will enjoy supermodel-style custom walk-in closets with dressing areas.

Paul Hazen of Douglas Elliman held the listing while Lena Datwani of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
