New Orleans is a city of intrigue. From its rich and colorful history to the vibrant music that fills its streets, there’s something infectious about the magical city. Now, guests of all ages can soak in the wonder of this city at The Marquee, a stunning new, tech savvy property from Bluegreen Vacations, points based, real estate backed vacation ownership program where members can discovery new places through flexible travel options.Inspired by the rich traditions of theatre, vaudeville, and storytelling in New Orleans, guests are first welcomed to the timeshare by Story Val, a character emblazoned within the walls that serves as a figurehead to the property. Last week, I had the chance to stay at the property to experience the many layers of the city and stay in this special property for its Grand Opening, which included a full tour and party to celebrate the new facility. In addition to Story Val, the boutique timeshare offers guests the opportunity to experience many augmented reality moments showcasing moving pictures that tell the story of the beloved city (and its cast of characters) via the Bluegreen Vacations mobile app. A first-of-its-kind feature for the timeshare industry, guests point their phones or tablets at various parts of their rooms (and throughout the timeshare), which triggers A/R characters to come to life (check out the video of a hallway moment in action.).And while the augmented reality features are incredible, the accommodations are also pretty incredible, offering guests comfort and style. I was floored when I entered my space that included a full kitchen, washer-and-dryer, oven, fridge, multiple TVs, and more. I was equally in awe of the interior design by Van Dresser, which included stunning wallpaper designed specifically for the property, pristine counters, eye-catching lighting fixtures, and remarkable headboards featuring characters of the hotel, to name a few touches. The outside courtyard also included some remarkable elements like the swinging chair, stage and beautiful art work from local artist, Tami Curtis. The 17-story property also features 90+ spacious villas, including one, two- and three-bedroom suites and amenities such as a rooftop pool, fitness center, and an on-site parking garage, to name a few offerings. The Marquee is also within close proximity to many attractions like the theater district, the French Quarter, the New Orleans Museum of Art, and many fine restaurants.Led by Timothy Schwering, Bluegreen Vacations’ Vice President of planning and design and a collaboration between SCNZ architects, Woodward Construction and A/V Design + Integration firm Electrosonic, with creative consultants Hotopp, the property was something out of a story itself, offering another layer of wonder and magic to the already bustling city.Discover even more about Bluegreen Vacations and The Marquee.
