Tasty Cheese Toast Hors D’oeuvre Recipe
Easy, breezy, beautiful....and cheesy!
Entertaining expert Stephanie Booth Shafran shares one of her favorite recipes: cheese toast. These delicious bites are a lovely appetizer for any occasion and any hour of the day. Showcased on a Herend Rothschild platter and orange Raynaud plate, Stephanie Booth Shafran’s cheese toast bites look just as good as their taste.
1/3 cup chopped Swiss Cheese
1/3 cup chopped white cheddar cheese
1/3 cup finely chopped white onion
4 tblsp mayonnaise (enough to bind mixture)
6 slices lightly toasted white bread, cut into bit-sized rounds
Preheat oven to 400 degrees convection.
Mix cheese, onion, mayo, salt, pepper until combined. Add in salt and pepper to taste.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Dollop heaping tablespoon on each bread round and bake in upper third section of oven for 3–5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden brown.
Let cool 3 minutes before serving.
Top with chopped chive, grated Parmesan or chopped Parsley.
