Taylor Swift’s Famous Cornelia Street Rental Is Now on the Market Seeking $18M

It’s the end of an era for 23 Cornelia Street. That’s right, the West Village townhouse that was listed as a rental property for $45,000 per month last year, is now looking for a new owner altogether. The address has gained quite the ‘reputation’ over the years, thanks to its most famous tenant, Taylor Swift—who is currently traveling around the country on The Eras Tour.

The singer recalls her time in the circa-1870 carriage house in a hit song. “Cornelia Street,” a track on Swift’s 2019 album Lover, is a narrative about the beginning of her relationship with former partner, actor Joe Alwyn. The singer dropped $39,500 a month on the four-bedroom residence while renovating her Tribeca townhouse.

SoHo House executive David Aldea owned the property while Swift lived there. “I really didn’t know her,” he told Vulture in 2019. “I’m just not a pop-culture guy, and I even said to someone, ‘I’m meeting a person named Taylor Swift who wants to rent my home.’ Now, mind you, I knew her songs because I had them on my running playlist. I just didn’t match the name to the song. I know, it’s silly,” Aldea admitted.

When Swift first toured the West Village digs with its own drive-in garage and various private outdoor terraces, the Aldea remembered distinctly that she said “Oooh, it’s so crafty.” In 2019, Aldea sold the property for $11.5 million and now it is on the market again for $17,995,000.

The townhouse has five full bathrooms, two half-baths, an indoor pool, three gas fireplaces, and rooftop views. Interested buyers who are ready to ‘Speak Now’ may reach out to the listing agents, Laurence Carty, Irene Lo, and Jennifer Rahilly of The Corcoran Group.
